* WHAT...Heavy snow above 7000 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with up to 12 inches along the Sierra crest. 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation for communities along Highway 395. Ridge winds gusting up to 70 mph. * WHERE...Mono County. * WHEN...Until 11 AM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially through mountain passes such as Sonora and Tioga passes. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall is expected through late Tuesday afternoon with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour possible at times. Information: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Do not attempt travel on high elevation roads if they are closed.
