High Surf Advisory HIGH SURF ADVISORY
Ventura County

  Effective: Thu, 12/4 2:59am Severity: Minor
  Updated: December 4, 2025 10:46 am Urgency: Expected
  Expires: Thu, 12/4 11:00am Certainty: Likely

Areas Affected: Ventura County Beaches

Alert Details:
* WHAT...Large breaking waves 4 to 7 feet with dangerous rip
currents. Tidal overflow will flood some normally dry beach
areas.

* WHERE...Ventura County Beaches.

* WHEN...Until noon PST today.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and
rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. Pooling of sea
water is possible around high tide at beach and harbor areas
that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges. Enhanced beach
erosion is also possible. No significant damage is expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides of 7.2 to 7.8 feet will occur
between 6 and 10 am each morning. Minor coastal flooding will
persist through Saturday due to the very large high tides. A
Beach Hazard Statement will likely to be issued following the
expiration of this High Surf Advisory.

Information:
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do
NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay
near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in
such conditions, stay off the rocks.
