next 7 days, please visit weather.gov/sto/briefing.

.KEY MESSAGES...

  - Elevated Fire Weather Conditions today through Saturday
within the Burney Basin due to low RH and breezy westerly
    winds.

  - Dry and with seasonable high temperatures through the
    weekend into next week.

.DISCUSSION...

Upper level trough continues to dig into the Pacific Northwest
and Northwestern California today through late Saturday. Radar has
light reflectivity within portions of northern California, however
there is no instability and conditions are dry in the low and mid
levels. This is resulting in just scattered to broken clouds, with
virga at times. The lack of instability and forcing is helping to
prevent isolated thunderstorm potential. The best chances lie
over the crest and toward the east where instability and forcing
are more favorable.

Otherwise, satellite shows few clouds across most of the
Sacramento Valley, adjacent terrain, and into the San Joaquin
Valley this afternoon. Temperatures reach into the upper 80s to
lower 90s today, with cooling conditions near the Delta later this
evening.

As the trough moves east through the region, breezy conditions are
expected at times within the northeastern foothills and into the
Burney Basin. Highest chance to see up to 30kt gusts will be
within the Burney Basin. This combined with already low RH values
in the teens to lower 20s creates Elevated Fire Weather Conditions
today. There will be some overnight recovery in RH values
tonight. Winds will continue to be breezy Saturday with RH values
in the the teens to 20s continuing the Elevated Fire Weather
Concerns for the Burney Basin. Breezy onshore flow will be likely
within the Delta helping to cool temperatures during the late
afternoon, evening and overnight hours. Cooler evening
temperatures will be predominately around the Delta, southern
Sacramento Valley and into the northern San Joaquin Valley.
Otherwise, as we move past the weekend and into next week the
pattern aloft looks to remain in place helping to keep seasonal
temperatures with dry weather conditions.

&&

.AVIATION...

VFR conditions continue through the TAF period, with SCT clouds
moving through the Sacramento sites and RBL/RDD. Conditions remain
dry helping to evaporate precipitation before it reaches the
surface near RDD today. Skies will clear out slowly this
afternoon/evening. Otherwise, breezy conditions near the Delta
this evening and overnight. A few gusts to 15kts for the
Sacramento Sites, MOD, and SCK this evening.

.STO WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
